What should I wear? The more skin you have exposed, the better. This enables the infrared waves to penetrate your tissues as deeply as possible. Clients are free to wear as much or little clothing as they would like. Omni's infrared sauna sessions are provided in a private room and a robe is provided.
-
What should I bring?Omnis Infrared Sauna experience provides all of the towels necessary and a complementary bottle of water. Clients can be giving flip flops upon request or they can bring their own.
-
How is an infrared sauna different from a traditional sauna?A traditional sauna heats the air around you, making it difficult to breathe and merely "asking" your skin to sweat, whereas an infrared sauna uses infrared waves to penetrate beyond the skin level and are absorbed by the cells. This induces deep detoxification and relaxation rather than simply making it difficult to breathe. When sweating in an infrared sauna, your sweat composition can be up to 20% toxins versus only 3% in a traditional sauna!
-
How often should I use the infrared sauna?I recommend practicing infrared sauna therapy once a month at minimum. This is considered “maintenance” and is great for a deep relaxation session. Initially, most find success with 2-3 times a week that then progresses to a once-per-week maintenance program depending on your wellness goals.
-
How hot is the infrared sauna?Infrared heat is gentle and most effective at a comfortable operating temperature of 100 degrees to 150 degrees Fahrenheit. The experience is much like laying out in the sun on a warm day and feeling the heat radiate your body.
-
What can I do in the sauna?Clients are encouraged to relax and unwind in the sauna. It provides an excellent time to put the phone down and sit with yourself in meditation or silence while listening to your body. If that is not your preference you are also welcome to listen to ebooks or podcasts; or ask for a recommended meditation. The sauna room also has a Sonos speaker that can play any type of music of your preference.
-
How much will I sweat? You may not sweat a lot during your first 2-3 sauna sessions. This is normal for many people, and it takes a few sessions to “retrain” the body/lymph system to do what comes naturally. Over time, you will begin to sweat more quickly and at a lower temperature setting as your body adjusts to your regular sauna routine.
-
When should I shower after the sauna? After you arrive home and have cooled down, you can take a warm shower. Be sure to exfoliate your skin to thoroughly clean and remove sweat residue, old skin cells, and any toxins that have risen to the surface of your skin. Once your body is thoroughly clean, lower the shower temperature to help cool down your body completely and close the skin pores.
-
How does the infrared sauna help with detoxification?Sweating is good for you. It is the body’s safe and natural way to heal and stay healthy. Infrared sauna detoxification happens by heating the body directly, causing a rise in core temperature. This results in a deep, detoxifying sweat at the cellular level, where toxins reside.
-
How does the infrared sauna help with pain relief?Infrared sauna heat penetrates tissue, joints and muscles to relieve anything from minor aches and pains to chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia. Pain management professionals incorporate infrared sauna heat therapy into treatment plans to decrease pain and muscle spasms and to speed up recovery time.

How does the infrared sauna help with skin purification? As part of a sauna skin therapy program, infrared saunas can help restore skin to a youthful appearance. My sauna is designed so that the skin on your entire body – from face to feet – will benefit from a therapy session. The near-infrared wavelengths are the most effective wavelengths for healing the epidermis and dermis layers of the skin. Near-infrared treatments stimulate collagen production to reduce wrinkles and improve overall skin tone. Far-infrared wavelengths target deeper down, removing toxins that can have a negative impact on your skin.
-
How does the infrared sauna help with circulation?Infrared therapy is like giving yourself a passive cardio workout – whenever you need it! Heating the muscles with infrared rays produces an increase in blood flow similar to that seen during exercise. Regular infrared sauna use – especially in the mid-infrared range – can significantly stimulate blood flow up to twice the normal rate.
-
How does the infrared sauna help with blood pressure?Using an infrared sauna induces a deep sweat to make the heart pump faster, which in turn increases blood flow, lowers blood pressure, and helps circulation. Clinical research shows a reduction in systolic and diastolic blood pressure associated with infrared sauna therapy. Both are key factors in maintaining a healthy heart.
-
How does the infrared sauna help with immune system support?Spending regular time in an infrared sauna can also help boost your immune system. Infrared saunas raise core body temperature, helping to keep the immune system strong and in good working order.
-
How does the infrared sauna help with weight loss?My infrared sauna promotes weight loss by detoxifying the body and burning calories while you relax in total comfort. Studies have shown that the benefits of an infrared sauna session can burn upwards of 600 calories while you relax! As the body works to cool itself, there is a substantial increase in heart rate, cardiac output, and metabolic rate, causing the body to burn more calories.
